Fighting for a reasonable approach to our schools.
The values that guide our work and support our mission.
We're a non-partisan advocacy group including students, parents, teachers, medical and legal professionals, scientists, and community members committed to ensuring that Ann Arbor Public Schools (AAPS) leadership and policy accurately reflects the diverse educational needs of all members of the community. Because we believe that public schools are essential to our society, we are working to ensure that decisions are made with accountability, transparency and community input.
We advocate for a risk-balanced return to in-person learning that considers the ability of different groups of students to successfully participate in virtual classrooms. Students who can and want to learn online should have that option. However, data shows most students learn best in-person with trained teachers. As we look ahead to the 2022-2023 school year, we are advocating for evidence-based decision making that prioritizes in-person learning and doesn't replace teachers with tech and online devices.
